Micah 5:2

Prophecy given: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

Devotional:

How amazing is it that God shows us that His Word is true and that He is all knowing? A man named Micah wrote this Scripture and accurately predicted Christ’s birth place (hundreds of years before Jesus was born). When Micah wrote this, there were two locations known as Bethlehem. Micah wrote Ephrathah after Bethlehem to specify the Bethlehem in Judah. In those days Bethlehem Ephrathah was considered little or insignificant among the cities of Judah, yet it would be the city where Messiah was born. Also, Micah writes that Messiah will be a ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. The promised eternal King in David’s line has been alive forever, from the beginning of time. That great man is JESUS! Even back then, our loving God gave hope for the future and offered blessed assurance that Jesus is the Messiah.
