Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Devotional:

Have you ever sat near a pool or at the water park while your kids were playing?  It’s noisy. Really noisy. It sounds that way when children are having fun. That’s pure joy you’re hearing. Unashamed, uninhibited, reckless joy.  Psalm 100 reminds us that God delights in that. He is never happier than when His children are praising Him with shouts of joy. And we’re all His children, by faith.  As adults, we tend to show our happiness differently.  We’re a little more subdued and socially appropriate. But God doesn’t have an age limit on exuberance.  He gave us His son as a gift out of love so that we would have eternal life. That’s praiseworthy! So go ahead and try this simple prayer: “Lord, I stand in awe of You. Your love knows no limits, has no boundaries, and endures forever. Lord give me courage and a childlike faith to worship you with all the gratitude in my heart.  In Your holy name, Amen.”
