Kids Director

Role Summary

The Kids Director leads and oversees all aspects of Fox River’s Kids Ministries, guiding children from birth through 5th grade in their spiritual growth. This role requires a visionary leader passionate about mentoring teams, ensuring alignment with Fox River’s mission, and cultivating an environment that prioritizes safety, spiritual development, and fun that kids want to keep coming back for.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Champion Fox River’s Mission: Ensure all Kids Ministries reflect and fulfill the church’s mission, vision, and values. The Kids Director must build a structure and develop leaders that allow them to have rotating and consistent presence and visibility at all campuses.
2. Safety and Child Protection: Implement and maintain rigorous child protection guidelines across all Kids environments and events.
3. Campus Alignment: Promote unity and consistency in Kids Ministries across all campuses, ensuring a cohesive experience for families.
4. Grade Transitions: As kids age through the different grades, families face transitions within their home. The Kids Director must be aware of this and walk alongside parents as their child grows from grade to grade. The Kids Director must also think through how to transition a kid well from one grade to the next. Some transitions are bigger and bring more changes for the family: Grade School to Pre-Teen to Middle School. The Kids Director will work with their team as well as the Student Director to ensure a smoother transition and retaining engagement throughout.
5. Leadership and Supervision: The Kids Director must be a leader of leaders who will oversee Kids Ministry Coordinators in key areas such as performance evaluations, goal setting, budgeting, and leadership development.
6. Volunteer Recruitment and Development: Oversee the recruitment, promotion, and training of volunteers to ensure a high-quality teaching experience and meaningful engagement with kids and families.
7. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any issues arising between Kids Ministry staff and other Fox River staff to maintain harmony and effective ministry operations.
8. Team Collaboration: Foster a positive, collaborative working environment, partnering with other staff to further the mission of Fox River Christian Church.
9. Personal Growth: Commit to ongoing spiritual, personal, and professional growth as a follower of Jesus, family member, church member, and leaders.
10. Paid Childcare: The Kids Director will oversee the childcare we offer to families on various nights across our campuses. Our childcare is low cost and offers parents an opportunity to attend a group while their kids are cared for.
11. Summer XP: The Kids Director will the planning and execution of Summer XP. Summer XP is a large scale offering that presents Jesus to kids and requires collaboration across many departments to execute successfully.

• Reports to: Family Pastor
• Oversees: Kids Coordinators across all campuses & Paid Childcare staff
