Philippians 4:5 – Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

As we remember our Scripture from yesterday (Philippians 4:4) and consider God’s Word for us today (Philippians 4:5), we are encouraged to rejoice in the Lord! As we do this, His joy fills our hearts. The more we rejoice in Him, the closer we get to Him–thereby, being filled with His joy and presence. As we draw near to Him, it becomes easier and easier to let our “gentleness” out, because we begin to see others how God does. After all, we are simply sharing with others the grace and gentleness that our Saviour has so freely given to us.

Prayer Topic:

Take some time today and remember a couple of the great things God has done in your life. Use your prayer time to rejoice and praise God for who He is and for what he has done. Remember that it is out of the overflow of His joy and presence in our own hearts that we can be gracious and gentle towards others.
